Hi,
I try to connect my iPhone 3 through VNC. I followed the steps, I installed all the softwares that you suggested in your article, but I am stuck when I try to connect the iphone, it is still said Failed connection- time out 60.
I ready checked ip address in the computer and I pinged the ip address and that worked, and I did through the host name, it worked.
I verified the port forward too.
Please can you give me some clues.

If you live in Florida and member of MIAMIRE , they’re coming up with Fusion, a parallel version of MLS for safari. No more pbs on your ipad. and it is synchronizing as well any info you enter in your MLS account into Fusion at the same time. great great tool. Already part working, will be finalized in July 2011.

This is not THE only way, but everything else is going to be pretty close.

If you are far from the server/laptop that is fine. I can be visiting my family in Dallas, and still connect over the internet to my little laptop.

You don’t have to have a dedicated computer for this purpose, but it is much easier. I started out using my desktop, but then my kids would get on it, I would forget to do turn it on, or something else. For me, it just works better to use an old computer.

P.S. I agree that it is a bad thing that you have to use IE to run our software. We pay for this service through our MLS dues. If realtors are in the field using iPad 2 and other devices, our MLS should put pressure on MLXchange to move into the 20-”teens” and get off IE. If enough MLS let them know that they are moving if we don’t get an upgrade, I’ll bet MLXchange would do it. They could get something nice coded for under $5000.

Thanks for this, however, it really ticks me that we can’t use MLXchange on anything but IE. And I don’t even own a mac! Is this the only way??? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what if you are far from the server laptop? And do you need a dedicated laptop/pc for this purpose and this purpose only?

I have signed your petition. It looks like you need to tell the various members of your MLs about it.

I approached the administrator of our MLS, and they assured me that Mlxchange would run on linux and Mac. I guess it will if you can make enough hacks.

If you hover over the VNC logo in the system toolbar in the bottom right corner of your windows computer, it should show you the ip number of your computer.
